Pollen & cabin filter

The pollen (cabin) filter is the first line of defence between outside air and what you actually breathe in the car — and it's one of the most overlooked parts of the whole system. A blocked filter restricts airflow, makes the fan work harder and traps damp, which is a common contributor to musty smells. Replacing it is quick, inexpensive in terms of labour, and makes a noticeable difference to airflow and air quality straight away.
