Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal data, and what rights you have over it.
Last updated: 3 September 2026
Who we are
This website is operated by Mumford Air Conditioning ("we", "us", "our"), trading from Main Street, Summerhill, Co. Meath, A83 NW84. For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at gordon@mumfordmotors.ie or 089 434 1499.
What personal data we collect
We only collect personal data you give us directly. This is limited to:
- Booking enquiry form — name, phone number, car registration and the service you're asking about.
- Direct contact — anything you tell us by phone, email or in person when arranging or discussing a service.
- Marketing preference (optional) — if you tick the optional box on our booking form, that you'd like to receive occasional tips or service reminders by email.
How the booking form actually works
The booking form on this site does not submit your details to a server or database that we control. When you click "Request booking", your own device opens your email app with the details already filled in, addressed to gordon@mumfordmotors.ie. The form data travels directly from your device to your email account — this website never stores or sees it. Once you send that email, it's handled the same way as any other email you send us (see "How long we keep it" below).
How we use your data
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a booking or callback.
- To carry out the service you've asked for and keep a basic record of the work done, for warranty and future servicing reference.
- To send you occasional service reminders or car air con tips by email — only if you've explicitly opted in, and you can withdraw this at any time.
Our legal basis for processing
- Contract / legitimate interest — responding to enquiries and providing the service you've booked.
- Consent — marketing emails, and any non-essential cookies (see our Cookie Policy). You can withdraw consent at any time with no effect on any service already provided.
How long we keep it
We keep booking correspondence and basic customer/vehicle records for as long as reasonably needed for warranty and servicing history, and to meet standard Irish accounting record-keeping requirements (typically up to six years), after which it's deleted. If you ask us to erase your data sooner and we have no legal reason to keep it, we will.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing. Data may pass through:
- Our email provider, to receive and store booking enquiries sent to us.
- Our website hosting provider, which may process standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and performance — this site is a static website with no visitor database behind it.
- An analytics provider — only if you've opted in to analytics cookies via the cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Cookies
We use a minimal, necessary cookie/local-storage entry to remember your cookie choice, plus optional analytics and marketing cookies that only run if you say yes. Full details, including how to change your mind at any time, are in our Cookie Policy.
This site's fonts are self-hosted rather than loaded from a third party like Google Fonts, so simply visiting the site doesn't send your IP address anywhere beyond our own hosting provider.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Ask us to erase your data, where we have no legal reason to keep it.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, for marketing or non-essential cookies.
To exercise any of these rights, email gordon@mumfordmotors.ie. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (Ireland's supervisory authority for data protection).
Children
This website and our services are aimed at adults arranging car servicing. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example if we add a new form, analytics tool, or third-party service. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
